A Prep education is an investment in your child’s future, and we are committed to making such an education possible for all qualified students. This year 32% of our families received some form of assistance from the more than $1,754,192 allocated to financial aid, with an average grant amount of $15,804.
Awards are based on demonstrated economic need and the availability of funds. Students are first accepted to the School on the basis of character, grades, teacher recommendations, special talents, and potential for personal growth, regardless of ability to pay. Students are then considered for financial aid through a separate process.
While Santa Fe Prep does its best to meet need to the degree possible, we believe the primary responsibility for financing a student’s independent school education rests with the family. All families are, therefore, expected to contribute at least a portion of their child’s educational expenses.
Included in the following pages are step-by-step instructions for applying for tuition assistance, information on payment options for the expected family contribution, guidelines, and answers to frequently asked questions.
Affording Prep
We understand that paying your tuition obligation in one payment, regardless of any financial assistance, can be difficult. All Prep families have the option of enrolling in a tuition management program that allows them to spread tuition payments out over 12 months.
We also encourage families to tap all available resources to meet their financial need, such as outside scholarships, tribal and organizational education funds, and other family members or trusts.
