Annual Gala

The biggest fundraiser of the year for the Parents’ Association is Prep’s annual gala.  The advancement office and a team of parents work together to create a special theme for a dinner/dance and auction, and then work to solicit donations for fabulous merchandise that can be sold or auctioned during the evening.  Proceeds from the event support tuition assistance and Breakthrough Santa Fe.  Themes have ranged from an exotic Moroccan bazaar to a slightly mysterious but glamorous James Bond-style evening.

Gala 2010:  Wild West Cantina...Legends of Santa Fe

This past May, members of the Prep community stepped back into Santa Fe’s legendary and notorious past for a wild-west-themed gala.  Attire ran the gamut from cowgirl duds to saloon sultry, and a plentiful spread of smokin’ good vittles ensured no hard-working cowpoke went hungry.  Bull riding (of the mechanical kind) and can-can dancers added authenticity, and the auction bidding was wild and woolly.  By the end of the evening, more than $60,000 was raised to benefit tuition assistance and Breakthrough Santa Fe.  See you next year!
