The Senior Trip: The Slow Goodbye and Two Beautiful Vacation Retreats in Taos, New Mexico
The Santa Fe Prep Senior Trip is a chance to unplug from electronics, the internet, media, parties and slowly, sweetly say goodbye to each other. The seniors travel to an unbelievably beautiful place, the camp food is great, the rafting both soothing and exhilirating. The rafting, games on the beach, and the laughter around the campfire offer a wholesome and poignant way to say goodbye. It is quite simply magical to witness.
Their multi-day wilderness river trip is through Desolation Canyon on the Green River in Utah (pictured above). The cost of this trip is substantially reduced by the fundraising efforts of seniors throughout the year—in this case, an online vacation rental auction—as well by a large subsidy from the school itself. The money from this auction will help reduce the cost of the trip for all seniors and will help out substantially with financial aid for the trip.
Two stunning vacation rentals in Taos, New Mexico have been donated by senior class families at no charge to the senior class, allowing all of the money generated to go directly to the Class of 2017 Senior Trip. Both of these properties are charming, luxurious, and perfect places for a fun getaway. The first one, Rio Hondo, is literally right on the Taos Ski Valley slopes and holds up to 6 people; the other, Dragonfly, is ten miles away, and holds up to 8 people. The properties are beautiful, comfortable, and have complete gourmet kitchens, allowing family and friends to make meals onsite. Both properties often rent for well over $500 per night, and they are being offered to us with substantial flexibility in booking days. Please see details below. And thank you to the families who have generously provided these rentals.
