Prep Receives Grant for Faculty Enrichment Program

Santa Fe Prep has received a $50,000 matching grant from the E.E. Ford Foundation to establish a permanent faculty growth and enrichment program.  Prep was one of only 14 independent schools nationwide to receive a Ford Foundation grant in this funding cycle.

The grant must be matched on a two-to-one basis by the Prep community no later than November 2010.  The initial grant money will be used to augment funds available to faculty and staff for summer sabbaticals and immersion programs.  The matching funds will go into an endowment that will allow Prep to offer stipends of up to $5,000 for teachers to renew themselves and deepen their knowledge in important subject areas.

According to Head of School, Jim Leonard, “The Foundation’s executive director visited our school in October and saw first-hand the outstanding college preparatory program we offer.  He was particularly impressed by the talents and commitment of our faculty and supported our efforts to create a long-term professional development program.”
