Prep Community Raises $3,000 for Haiti Earthquake Victims

Prep students, faculty, parents and friends have raised $3,000 as a community to help survivors of last week’s devastating earthquake in Haiti.  Members of Prep’s Social Activism Club and Student Council spearheaded the effort and are now hoping to raise a total of $5,000.

Cash donations, which can be placed in any one of several jars around campus, will go to Doctors Without Borders to fund makeshift hospitals and medical care.  Online donations can be made in Prep’s name to Mercy Corps, an organization with a response team in Haiti setting up shelters and distributing food and supplies to the more than three million people affected by the quake.  Students have also put together a brief YouTube video with details.
