Five Prep Seniors Named 2016 National Merit Semifinalists

Santa Fe Prep is proud to announce that seniors Harsh Bhundiya, Shannon Kossmann, Drake Merians, Alan Rohrbach, and Stevie Shukman have been named National Merit Semifinalists in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. Over 1.5 million students in more than 22,000 high schools entered the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2014 PSAT. The 16,000 Semifinalists are the highest-scoring entrants in the country and represent less than 1% of each state’s high school seniors. Only 91 students in the state of New Mexico were named National Merit Semifinalists; nine are from Santa Fe. These academically talented students have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships, worth more than $32 million, that will be offered this spring.

This honor is not only a testimony to the hard work and dedication of these talented students, but also to the depth and breadth of Prep’s curricular offerings and commitment to providing a solid foundation of educational growth throughout our students’ academic careers. Congratulations, seniors!
