Farewell, Class of ‘08

Prep’s class of 2008 graduated from seniors to alumni during a commencement ceremony featuring keynote speaker Valerie Plame-Wilson.  The former CIA agent exhorted students to defend and exercise their constitutional rights, and to consider careers in public service.

Class members are now looking ahead to college, with many already heading off to schools like Stanford, Brown, Cornell, Rice and USC for orientation and registration.  Despite recent national headlines underscoring the extremely difficult college admissions season this year, over 60% of Prep’s seniors were accepted to colleges ranked either most competitive or highly competitive by Barron’s Profiles of American Colleges.

“Prep students are interesting, engaged and well prepared for college, and college admissions directors know this,” said Jennifer Dryfoos, Director of College Counseling.

As a parting gift to the School many have attended since 7th grade, members of the class of ‘08 planted a peach tree near the front entrance circle.
