Prep Students Attend White House Tribal Youth Gathering

On July 9, 2015 First Lady Michelle Obama addressed more than 1,000 Native American youth at the first-ever White House Tribal Youth Gathering in Washington, DC as part of President Obama’s Generation Indigenous (Gen-I) initiative and his commitment to improve the lives of Native youth across the country.

Prep students Sage Crosby ’17, Simone Catanach ’16, Bernice Talachy ’19 and Jaelene Tapia ’17 were in attendance for this event; Francesca Maestas ’18 also went to DC as a member of Pojoaque’s Hoop Dance Group who performed at the conference and at various museums and congressional offices.

This is such an amazing honor and opportunity for these young women, and we are proud to have them as members of our Prep community. You can read more about this important inaugural event here: http://indiancountrytodaymedianetwork.com/…/white-house-you…
