Being a steward means creatively thinking about the connections between people, historical and current events, the environment, and driving factors. It means giving what you can to a cause, advocating for it, and pushing yourself to continue to learn.

At Prep, I've been given the freedom to find what really interests me, with great support from teachers, and the opportunity to write history, English, science, and elective papers and projects about the topics I love. Getting to research fire suppression, Glen Canyon Dam, uranium mining, fire fighting tactics, and water conservation has allowed me to learn more about topics that fascinate me and has given me direction for the future. I’ve volunteered with the Santa Fe Watershed Association, interned with the City of Santa Fe Hydrology Department, and am now planning to major in environmental sciences in college.
