The 8th Graders kicked off the school year with a new-and-improved three full days of fun-filled orientation activities designed to set the tone for an inclusive, supportive 8th grade
class and school community.

Students stayed on campus one day, rotating through workshops designed to build community through various activities and art. Topics ranged from negotiating obstacles and blocking out distractions, to participating in teamwork and understanding how important words are. The following day focused on building community through shared outdoor experiences. Hikes included Atalaya, the Borrego Trail, Rio en Medio, Raven’s Ridge, Buckman Mesa, Tent Rocks, and Aspen Vista. The final day was a super highlight as the class went down to the Gravity Park in Albuquerque and bounced and flipped to its heart’s content.
