Santa Fe Prep’s Capital Campaign—Generating Impact: Prep Beyond 50—Victory!

In 2013, we began a $10,000,000 capital campaign to celebrate Prep’s 50th Anniversary as a school.  This past week, Campaign Chair Carol Romero-Wirth, announced victory with close to $15,000,000 raised for our community.

We made it Santa Fe!

Eighty percent of the money raised as part of the “Generating Impact: Prep Beyond 50” campaign will provide exceptional educational opportunities for our state’s brightest students with financial need–more than $12,000,000 will provide tuition assistance for these talented students attending Santa Fe Prep and Breakthrough Santa Fe.

Included in our numbers is a phenomenal donation from trustee Andrew Davis, whose generosity is truly changing New Mexico. The Davis New Mexico Scholarship will give millions annually to provide college scholarships to first-generation and low-income students from Northern New Mexico. In this inaugural 2016 year, eighteen qualified students from Santa Fe and Albuquerque were awarded full scholarships to attend one of five Davis New Mexico partner colleges. Eventually, the program will grow to support 25 students each year.

The 50th Anniversary campaign also funded the beautiful Sun Mountain field for our athletes, a renovation of Santa Fe Prep’s middle and upper schools, and the creation of the E.E. Ford Teachers’ Colloquium, which provides summer inspiration and rejuvenation for Santa Fe public school teachers for free and independent school teachers from around the country for a small fee.

Our 50th Anniversary campaign lived up to its name by generating impact throughout Santa Fe and northern New Mexico and changing lives along the way. We are exceptionally grateful to Campaign Chair Carol Romero-Wirth, our Steering Committee, Board Chair Kelsey Daly Brown, and to our donors who made this campaign’s success possible. We are launching into the next 50 years with plans to continue our mission as a private school with a public purpose.

Thank you.
