Prep Performing Arts Students Compete State-Wide

Shannon Kossmann ’16, Cole Agard ’19, Vineet Narayanan ’19, and Logan Luiz ’16 represented Santa Fe Prep in the New Mexico All-State Symphony Orchestra earlier this month. This was Shannon’s third time in the festival, Logan sang in the mixed choir for the second time, and this was a first-time event for Cole and Vineet. The All-State Festival is held every year with students auditioning statewide to participate in these performing groups. Students rehearsed with internationally known clinicians for two days leading up to their performances.

Cybele Mayes-Osterman ’16 and Beckett Maestas ’17 will participate in the NM All-State Jazz Festival at ENMU in Portales, January 22-24. They will both play in the second band alongside students from around the state who also auditioned for these positions. The Jazz Festival is comprised of three big bands and this is the first time in a decade that we have had students make the grade for this event! The concert is on Sunday, January 22 at noon in Portales for those of you who might want to take a short trip in the middle of the month.
