Tuition Assistance
We are committed to making a Prep education available to all qualified students, and approximately 24% of our students receive some form of assistance. This year Santa Fe Prep has committed 14% of its tuition revenues to tuition assistance and faculty remissions, totaling over $800,000 in this academic year.
Tuition assistance awards are based on proven economic need and availability of funds. Students are first accepted to the School on the basis of character, grades, test scores, teacher recommendations, special talents, and potential for personal growth, regardless of ability to pay. Students are then considered for financial aid through a separate process.
We believe the primary responsibility for financing a student’s independent school education rests with his/her family. Santa Fe Prep makes an effort to meet need as much as possible, but there is sometimes demonstrated need beyond our financial aid budget for the year. All families are expected to contribute at least a portion of their child’s educational expenses.
Included in the following pages are step-by-step instructions for applying for tuition assistance, information on payment options for the expected family contribution, guidelines and frequently asked questions.
