Parents’ Association
Every parent at Prep is automatically a member of our Parents’ Association. The PA works closely with the school’s administration to plan parent education events, help with student activities, and raise money for Prep. The PA is active, inclusive, and positive--they are a vital part of our school community.
As a parent at Prep, you will be invited to class coffees, where parents from a given grade level get together periodically to discuss issues of concern to them: how to handle academic stress, the social challenges of middle school, new frontiers in technology for our kids, how to handle the “driving years” of high school, etc. As well, the PA holds periodic parent education events, bringing local experts to campus to provoke more in-depth discussion of certain topics.
Each year, the Parents’ Association helps to host our fall Open House--a great window into the educational experience of their children. In the spring, the PA holds its annual fundraising gala--typically a dinner/dance and auction, but sometimes a more innovative affair. Other annual Parents’ Association events include a spring rummage sale and help with the fall Prep golf tournament. All proceeds are returned to the school for such necessities as classroom supplies, teacher professional development, and tuition assistance for deserving students.
Through all of these efforts, the Parents Association is able to donate upwards of $50,000 to the school each year. We encourage your active participation in PA events--join in!
